Less than 24 hours after rallying from 22 points down to defeat GCL South rival La Salle on Friday night, the Elder basketball team returned to action and captured a 74-67 win over neighborhood rival Western Hills in a non-conference game Saturday night at Western Hills High School.  Panthers junior guard Brad Miller led three double-figure scorers with 19 points, including four of Elder’s five three-point goals.

Senior guard Thomas Autenrieb added 16 points for Elder, ranked No. 6 in The Enquirer’s latest Division I coaches poll, while junior forward Mitch Moorhead came off of the bench to add 13.  Elder is off until Friday night, when the Panthers (12-4, 2-1 GCL South) will host No. 1 Moeller (14-1, 3-0), which has won eight straight games and 13 in a row against GCL South teams.  Tipoff is 7:30 at The Pit.
