Brothers Jeffrey and Jeremy Larkin each scored 19 points t  help La Salle to a 69-50 victory over Walnut Hills in a non-conference basketball game Tuesday night at La Salle.  Senior guard Jeffrey Larkin,  playing in his fourth game of the season and making his first start since returning from being sidelined with a knee injury, sank four three-pointers to post his season high in points, hitting 9 of 10 free throws, and finishing with nine rebounds.  Younger brother Jeremy, a sophomore guard, added two of the Lancers’ nine three-point goals.

La Salle, ranked No. 2 behind GCL South member Moeller in The Enquirer’s latest Division I coaches’ poll,  avenged a close loss to Walnut Hills suffered in last year’s regional final – a win that moved the Eagles to the Division I state semifinals.  The Lancers (12-3, 1-2 GCL South) return to divisional play by hosting St. Xavier (7-8, 0-3) Friday night.  Tipoff is 7:30.  La Salle is also home Saturday night, when the Lancers face GCL Co-Ed member Roger Bacon (12-2, 5-1 GCL Central) – which is ranked No. 1 in The Enquirer’s latest Divisions II-IV poll.  Tipoff of that game is also at 7:30.
