Senior guard Tim Bell scored a season-high 25 points, connecting on 8-of-11 field goals and 6-of-6 free throws, to propel La Salle over St. Xavier, 68-52, Friday night at La Salle High School.  Bell, who also added three three-pointers in four attempts, was joined in double figures by senior guard Jeffrey Larkin – who chipped in 19 points.  Larkin, back from a knee injury, also had 19 in a victory over Walnut Hills on Tuesday night.

The Lancers (13-3, 2-2 GCL South) shot the ball well, hitting 25-of-47 field goals, going 6-of-14 from three-point range, and connecting on 12-of-13 free throws.  St. Xavier (7-9, 0-4) was led by senior forward Roderick Mills – the leading scorer in the GCL South who had 20 points and five rebounds – and junior guard Jack Westerfield, who came off the bench to score 17 points and grab four rebounds.

Both teams are in action tonight.  La Salle looks for its third victory of the week when it hosts Roger Bacon – ranked No. 1 in The Enquirer’s Division I coaches’ poll – at 7:30.  The Spartans (13-2, 6-1 GCL Central) defeated Hamilton Badin, 75-47, on the road Friday night.  St. Xavier steps out of conference play and travels to Oak Hills (9-7) at 7:30.  The Highlanders lost at home to Sycamore, 64-54, Friday night.
