Senior forward Grant Benzinger and senior guard Tre’ Hawkins combined to score 34 of Moeller’s 59 points as the Crusaders remained undefeated in 2014 with a 59-48 victory over Roger Bacon in a GCL basketball game Tuesday night at Roger Bacon.  Benzinger scored 19 points and Hawkins chipped in 15, while senior center Nate Fowler added nine points and a game-high 16 rebounds as Moeller, ranked No. 1 in The Enquirer’s Division I coaches’ poll, extended its winning streak to 12 games.  Roger Bacon is ranked No. 1 in The Enquirer’s Divisions II-IV coaches’ poll.

Moeller wraps up the regular season with back-to-back tests Friday and Saturday nights.  First, the Crusaders (19-1, 5-0 GCL South) will be vying for a second straight perfect GCL South season when they travel to St. Xavier (8-11, 0-5) on Friday.  Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.  Then, the Crusaders close the regular season by hosting Covington Catholic, ranked No. 2 in The Enquirer’s Northern Kentucky coaches’ poll.  The Colonels have been beaten only once in 23 games, losing at Fairfield last month on the road.
