Moeller Fourth After First Day Of State Wrestling

Moeller is in fourth place after the first day of competition in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I State Wrestling Championships held Thursday at the Jerome Schottenstein Center at The Ohio State University in Columbus.  The Crusaders totaled 17 points, trailing Massillon Perry (31), Brecksville Broadview Heights (19.0) and Marysville (17.5) heading into today’s second day of matches.  The competition concludes Saturday, with the fourth session of matches beginning at 10 a.m.

The Crusaders opened competition with a GCL South-high nine wrestlers set to compete, following by St. Xavier (5), La Salle (4) and Elder (2).  The Bombers were tied with Uniontown Lake at No. 11 after the first day, with 8.5 points, while La Salle was at No. 18, with 6.5, and Elder tied at No. 39, with 3.0.  Doors open today at 9 a.m., with the Division I Championship Quarterfinals set to begin at 11:20 this morning, and the Division I Consolations Round 2 at 1:45.
