The St. Xavier soccer team enters the postseason riding a GCL South championship and a 10-match winning streak that started in early September.  The Bombers (13-2-1, 5-1-0 in GCL South), the No. 2 seed playing in the Cincinnati 4 Sectional, host Amelia at 7 p.m. Thursday.  Amelia advanced with a 4-1 victory over Hamilton on Monday.  St. Xavier’s last defeat was to Elder, 1-0, back on September 6.

Elder and Moeller also are set to begin sectional play Thursday.  The No. 9-seed Panthers (6-7-2, 3-2-1), also playing in the Cincinnati 4 Sectional,  host Princeton at 7 p.m. at the Panther Athletic Complex.  Princeton advanced with a 5-0 win against Winton Woods on Monday.  Should Elder and St. Xavier both win, they will face each other at 7 p.m. Monday at Lakota East High School.  The teams split a pair of matches during the regular season.

No. 7 seed Moeller (7-6-3, 3-3-0), playing in the Cincinnati 5 Sectional, will meet Colerain in its sectional opener at 7 Thursday at Lockland Memorial Stadium.  Colerain defeated La Salle ( 4-9-4, 0-5-1), 4-2, on Monday to advance to face Moeller.   If the Crusaders defeat Colerain, they will advance to meet the winner of Walnut Hills-Mt. Healthy at 7 Monday at Winton Woods High School.
