Moeller Wins Regular-season Finale

Senior quarterback Matt Crable tossed two touchdown passes to senmior receiver Jack Toomb to help the Crusaders defeat Louisville Trinity, 17-14, Friday night at Lockland Memorial Stadoum, sending the two-time defending Division I state champions into the postseason with a victory.  Crable was 15 of 26 paseing for 233 yards and the two TDs, while also leading Moeller (7-3) with 85 rushing yards on 16 carries.  Toomb caught six passes for 78 yards from Crable, who winds up leaiding the GCL South with 1,966 yards passing in the regular season.

Moeller, which entered the game at No. 9 in the Division I, Region 2 Harbin computer ratings, is vying to earn one of the top eight spots and earn a first-round home playoff game.  The Crusaders never let Louisville Trinity (5-5) get its running game untracked, limiting the Shamrocks to 56 yards on 26 carries – an average of just 1.2 yardes per attempt.  Mitch Brauning and Rick Raga were the defensive leaders for the Crusaders, finishing with seven and six tackles, repectively.
