Junior Jeremy Larkin rushed 15 times for a school single-game record 304 yards and five touchdowns to help La Salle defeat Harrison, 56-24, Friday night in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II, Region 6 semifinals at Hamilton High School’s Virgil Schwarm Stadium.  The Lancers (11-1), the region’s top seed, advance to meet No. 2 seed Mt. Healthy (12-0) in the regional final at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at a site to be determined. Mt. Healthy advanced with a 47-14 win over previously undefeated Kings Friday night at Lakota West.

Larkin, the GCL South Co-Player of the Year with Elder’s Peyton Ramsey, ripped off scoring runs of 31, 3, 36, 76 ,and 2 yards, respectively, to help the Lancers win their fifth straight game and second postseason win in school history. Larkin, who led the GCL South in both rushing and scoring during the regular season, now has amassed 1,976 yards on the ground and scored 29 TDs this season.  Backfield mate Jarell White, a sophomore, carried 11 times for 117 yards and a score as La Salle racked up 514 yards rushing against Harrison (8-4).  The Lancers did not attempt a pass.

The Region 6 final will be a matchup between two teams that have been ranked Nos. 1-2 in The Enquirer’s Division II final coaches’ poll and the region in La Salle and Mt. Healthy, as well as teams that boast two of the region’s most-explosive offenses and stingiest defenses.  Mt. Healthy, led by standout junior quarterback David Montgomery, has outscored its opposition, 467-134, this season, allowing only four opponents to score in double figures.  La Salle has scored 40 or more points in eight games, while the Lancers have given up only 160 points all season.
