Short roster, no problem.  La Salle basketball coach Dan Fleming, not having a full complement of players in his team’s season opener because of the lengthy football season that culminated with a state football title, opened the Lancers’ season with a 42-34 non-conference victory against Hamilton Saturday night at part of the inaugural Mercy Health Tipoff Classic at Hamilton High School.

Sophomore guard C.F. Fleming, son of the Lancers’ varsity coach, recorded team highs of 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead his team to the win against Hamilton (1-1), which had opened its season one night earlier with a road win at Xenia.  Fleming hit 5 of 10 field goals, including 3 of 8 from three-point range and 4 of 5 free throws, to lead La Salle.  The Lancers travel to Turpin (1-1) on Tuesday night
