The Southwest Ohio High School Swimming & Diving Classic gets underway today, as an estimated 110 schools – including all four GCL South members - and more than 3,000 swimmers and divers will get a midseason test by competing in this prestigious event that celebrates its 32-year anniversary.  And, for each of the past 31 meets, there has been one constant – St. Xavier’s AquaBombers winning the boys’ team title.

St. Xavier, also the defending Division I state champion, will attempt to do it again this weekend in what is believed to be the largest invitational of its kind in the United States. Meet preliminaries will be held at nine different sites today, with the top 16 qualifiers in each event advancing to the finals set for Sunday.   Diving finals will be held at the University of Cincinnati, while swimming finals begin at 6:30 p.m. at St. Xavier’s Keating Natatorium.

The meet is sponsored by the Southwest Ohio Swimming Officials Association. For updated meet results, visit and click on Southwest District Classic.  Team scores and individual results will be posted daily on the site.
