Guards Tre Crigler and Jeremy Larkin each scored 14 points, while C.J. Fleming added 13 to lead La Salle to a 58-44 victory over Northmont in a non-conference basketball game Saturday night at La Salle High School – earning Lancers’ coach Dan Fleming career win No. 400 in the process.  Fleming, who became La Salle’s head coach in 1990, has a career record of 400-200, with all but seven of his wins coming at La Salle.

Crigler and Fleming, son of the Lancers’ coach, each knocked down two of their team’s eight three-point goals.  The win was the seventh in eight games for La Salle, with the lone loss during that span at Moeller, 42-38, in overtime Friday night.  La Salle is 11-1 against Ohio schools this season.  The Lancers – ranked No. 5 in The Enquirer’s Division I coaches’ poll - host No. 2 and undefeated Elder Friday night.

Under Fleming, the Lancers have been a perennial power in Greater Cincinnati – winning two city championships (2009-10 and 2011-12), five GCL league championships and six district titles.  Fleming has guided the Lancers to a pair of state championships, one in 1996 and the other in 2011.  Fleming’s tournament record at La Sale is an impressive 61-22, and the Lancers are 13-3 this season, 1-1 in the GCL South.

Fleming is the second GCL South coach to earn a milestone victory this season.  St. Xavier’s Scott Martin posted career win No. 300 when the Bombers defeated Lakota West, 60-58, on January 17.  And, like Fleming, Martin also has a son who starts for the Bombers. Sam Martin is a sophomore guard and is the team’s second-leading scorer (11.4 points). C.J. Fleming also is a sophomore guard who leads La Salle and the GCL South in scoring (16.3).
