Junior forward Sam McCracken came off the bench to score a team-high 12 points and grab six rebounds, and Moeller outscored Western Hills, 23-6, in the fourth quarter to erase a three-point deficit and post a 46-32 non-conference victory Tuesday night at Moeller High School.  The win was the third straight for the Crusaders and extended Moeller’s home winning streak to 23 games.

Joining McCracken in double figures was junior guard Trey McBride, who added 10 points for Moeller (9-6, 1-1 GCL South).  Junior guard Nate Georgeton contributed nine points and a team-high eight assists as Moeller trailed 17-14 at halftime and 26-23 entering the fourth quarter.  Moeller – ranked No. 8 in The Enquirer’s Division I weekly coaches’ poll – returns to GCL South play when it travels to No. 9 St. Xavier (12-4, 0-2) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

No. 2 Elder, now one of only three remaining undefeated boys’ teams in Greater Cincinnati (with 15-0 Milford and 13-0 Mason), travels to No. 5 La Salle in the other GCL South game at 7:30  Friday night.  The Panthers (16-0, 2-0) currently have a one-game lead over both La Salle (13-3, 1-1) and Moeller in the league standings.  Elder has posted GCL South wins at home over Moeller, 42-41, in overtime and St. Xavier, 60-54.
