Senior guards Aaron Held and Brad Miller each scored 11 points to lead a balanced Elder scoring attack in a 72-48 victory over Withrow in a non-conference game Tuesday night at Withrow.   The win kept Elder perfect this season against non-GCL South competition, improving the Panthers’ mark against non-league teams to 16-0.  Elder, which had lost two of its last three league games, is now 18-2 overall, 2-2 in the GCL South.

Elder – ranked No. 5 in The Enquirer’s Division I weekly coaches’ poll – was aided by  seven points each from Frankie Hofmeyer, Mitch Moorhead, Kyle Orloff and Peyton Ramsey.  Held knocked down three of Elder’s seven three-point goals in a game that Elder led 38-30 at halftime.  The Panthers travel to St. Xavier (13-6, 0-4 GCL South) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.  Mo. 7 Moeller (13-6, 3-1) travels to No. 6 La Salle (15-4, 3-1) in a matchup for first place.
