Perez Leads St. Xavier To Lacrosse State Semis

Senior attacker Jack Perez scored five goals as St. Xavier jumped out to a 9-0 lead after one quarter and went on to a 16-5 victory over GCL South colleague Moeller Saturday afternoon at Kings High School to win the Ohio High School Lacrosse Association Division I Southwest Regional Championship and earn a berth to the state semifinals for the second consecutive year.  

St. Xavier advances to meet Central Region winner Olentangy Liberty in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kings. Olentangy advanced with a 16-6 victory over Dublin Coffman.  Cleveland St. Ignatius plays Upper Arlington, the defending state champion, in the other semifinal at 7 Wednesday at Wooster High School.  The semifinal winners meet for the OHSLA Division I title at 3:30 Saturday at New Albany High School.
