Moeller Moves Back In Mix After Road Victory Over Elder Friday Night

There are still three weeks remaining in the football regular season but, after the latest Harbin computer ratings were released by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, all four Greater Catholic Schools would be in the state playoff picture in their respective divisions – including Moeller, which climbed up to No. 16 after its victory over Elder last Friday at The Pit.

In Division I, Region 2, Colerain (6-1) sits atop the computer ratings used to qualify teams for the postseason.  St. Xavier(5-2) is No. 5 this week, while Elder (5-2) remains solid at No. 8.  The top 16 teams in Region 2 qualify for the state playoffs, with Moeller (3-4) currently holding the last spot.  Despite its first loss in two years, La Salle (6-1) remains a solid No. 1 in Division II, Region 8, where the top eight teams advance to postseason play.

Here is a look at the remaining schedules for the GCL South teams:  Elder – at Winton Woods, Friday; vs. DePaul Catholic, N.J., 10-23; at La Salle, 10-30.  La Salle – vs. Columbus St. Charles Prep, Friday; vs. Winton Woods, 10-23; vs. Elder, 10-30.  Moeller – vs. Cleveland St. Ignatius (at Dublin Coffman), Saturday; at Lakewood St. Edward, 10-24; vs. Ontario, Canada Prep Academy, 10-30.  St. Xavier – at Warren Central, Ind., Friday; at Cleveland St. Ignatius, 10-24; at Louisville St. Xavier, 10-30.
