GCL South Well Represented At District Bowling

All Four Schools Set To Compete Tomorrow Morning In Beavercreek

All four bowling teams from Greater Catholic League South Division schools will compete in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Southwest District Championships that begin Thursday morning at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek.  Team competition begins at 9:45 a.m., followed by the Baker games at 2 p.m. at the lanes located at 1238 North Fairfield Road, Beavercreek 45432.

Doors open at 7:45 a.m.  Admission is $6.

Elder and St. Xavier qualified by winning their respective sectionals.  The Panthers finished atop the Division I sectional held at Crossgate Lances, while St. Xavier came out on top of the sectional held last week at Colerain Bowl.  Moeller finished fifth at Crossgate to earn a spot in at district, while La Salle rolled to a fourth-place finish at Colerain Bowl to advance.

The top five teams from the district tournament advance to the OHSAA State Bowling Championships to be held at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl on Friday, March 4.  The top five individuals not on qualifying teams also will advance to state.  At district, teams will bowl three games of 10-pin regulation bowling and six Baker games.  State qualifying teams are determined by the highest total pin count of all games.

Individual state qualifiers are determined by the highest pin count after the three games of regulation 10-pin bowling for all participants.  For district bowling results, click here.  Results will be posted once the competition is finished.
