Advance Tickets One Sale This Week At La Salle, St. Xavier

Greater Catholic League South Division members La Salle and St. Xavier – separated by just a few miles on North Bend Road – are looking to extend the league’s state football championship streak to five years this week when both schools play for Ohio High School Athletic Association State championships at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.

La Salle (12-2) kicks off the seven OHSAA state finals at 7:30 Thursday night, taking on Massillon Perry (13-1) in a rematch of last year’s state final – won by La Salle, 42-0, for the Lancers’ second state title in a row.  La Salle is vying for a three-peat and to extend its postseason winning streak to 15 games.

St. Xavier (9-5) gets the marquee game at 8 Friday night, facing Cleveland St. Ignatius (13-1) in a matchup of two of the state’s elite Division I programs.  St. Ignatius has won a state-record eight big-school state crowns, while St. Xavier is looking to win its third, having won in 2005 and 2007.

Fans can buy tickets to the state finals at participating schools.  La Salle will sell tickets to its game from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Wednesday in the school’s main office.  St. Xavier will sell tickets  from 11:10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and then 9 a.m. to noon Friday.  The schools receive a portion of each ticket sold in advance of game day.

Tickets also are available at the Ohio Stadium Box Office before each game for $15 (club level, with indoor access) or $12 reserved.  All-session ticket books also are available online at http://go.osu.edu/OHSAAFBTix.
