La Salle Finishes First In GCL South Quad Match Held Tuesday

Elder High School senior Conner Brocker rolled the first perfect game of his career Tuesday night in the Greater Catholic League South Division Quad at Brentwood Bowl.   La Salle finished with a score of 2709 to win the team match, followed by St. Xavier, 2647; Elder, 2531; and Moeller, 2179.

Brocker – who finished with a 471 two-game series to lead the Panthers – joins Craig Sherrill, December 6, 2006 at Colerain Bowl; Michael Schmess, January 17, 2007 at Western Bowl; and Ben Brauch, November 29, 2011 at Northwest Lanes – as the only bowlers to roll a perfect 300.

Elder has been ranked No. 1 in The Enquirer area’ coaches poll all season, with La Salle and St. Xavier tied at No. 9 in the rankings heading into the quad.  Last season was a successful one for the GCL South bowling teams, with Elder and St. Xavier winning their respective sectionals.  The Panthers won the Holiday Classic and finished third in the Big Blue Invitational earlier this year; the Cincinnati High School Classic is scheduled to begin Friday at Western Bowl.

The next GCL South Quad is at Colerain Bowl on Thursday, January 11.
