Eddings Scores Game-High 21 To Lead Lancers At Winton Woods

Senior guard Derek Eddings scored a season-high 21 points, connecting on 8-of-14 field goals including 4-of-6 from three-point range, to lead three double-figure scorers and help La Salle rebound from its only loss this season to post a 63-48 win at Winton Woods in anon-conference basketball game Monday night.

Juniors Jeff Queen Jr. and Justin Lovette added 15 and 12 points, respectively, for La Salle (11-1) – which had its 10-game winning streak to open the season snapped with a tough 45-43 home loss to two-time defending state champion Moeller in the Greater Catholic League South Division opener for both teams last Friday at La Salle.  The Lancers are off to their best since beginning the 2003-04 season with 19 consecutive victories.  Up next for La Salle is a home game against St. Xavier (10-2), which has won 10 straight and has not lost since December 3.  Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Moeller and St. Xavier have non-conference games tonight.  The Crusaders look to extend their 39-game home winning streak when they host Huber Heights Wayne at 7:30 p.m.  Moeller, ranked No. 1 in the second Associated Press Division I state poll released today, is riding a 10-game winning streak.  St. Xavier also will look to make it 11 in a row when the Bombers visit Woodward at 7:30 tonight.   Elder (7-4) is off until Friday, when the Panthers visit Moeller at 7:30 p.m.
