Schneider’s Game-High 16 Points Leads Lancers Over East Central
Senior Ayden Schneider scored a game-high 16 points, knocking down 8-of-10 field goals, and recorded four steals to help La Salle get off to a fast start and post a 51-37 victory against East Central in an interstate basketball game Tuesday night in St. Leon, Ind.
Schneider was the lone double-figure scorer for La Salle (3-1), which rebounded from a close loss at Walnut Hills last Saturday. The Lancers jumped out to a 10-2 lead after one quarter and extended the margin to 26-10 at halftime. Senior Justin Lovetee added seven points and seven rebounds for La Salle- which travels to Greater Dayton to face Centerville at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The other three GCL teams return to the court Saturday, with Moeller (3-1) hosting Centerville at 5 p.m. In the process, the Crusaders will look to extend their home winning streak to 49 games. Ironically, Centerville is the last team to beat Moeller in Montgomery, winning 42-41 in February 2015. Elder (4-0) looks to continue its hot start when the Panthers travel to Lakota West at 7:30 p.m., while St. Xavier (3-0) also looks to stay undefeated when the Bombers face West Clermont at home at 7:30.
